Change

Ok, things change. Over time. This is at least is what most of my work in statistics is about. And I can't deny that, after starting with some search for the jazz in mind, I ended up being something between a theory-of-science kind of guy, a methodologist -- or even a statistician. And someday I had to embrace this fate.
Things change. Some thing are obvious: there won't be any "jazz" in the titel of this blog from now on. Although Hamiet Blueitt is blowing his "If you have to ask, you don't need to know" while I am writing this, jazz will most likely play only "a" role in this blog from now on, not "the" role. Sure there will be further posts, thoughts, snippets on this topic. You can be sure. Also, on tea- and coffee-times, the occasional style thing and zen as well as mindfulness. So no real change at all? Did I move away from the "jazz theme" already much earlier?
Other changes are more subtle. The blog will be from now on in English. I am not sure, why. But I am also not sure, why not. I simply feel like stepping out of the frame I set up over the past three and a half years. Also, I did not a lot of "setting" since december 2009 at all.
The old posts will all remain unchanged. For all the readers capable of German (hey, at least I know of four occasional readers...). All others might take a new start with me from here on.
Currently, I am living at Cambridge. Based on a leave from an ERASMUS teching staff mobility -- it is like a sabbatical -- only that it is one month but it pays for your accomodation. Some impressions can be found here: www.twitter.com/TheCambridgian
